Sediment Site Investigation and Dredged Material Management Consultant
Windward Environmental LLC is seeking a lead, senior, or principal consultant to join our sediment site investigation and dredged material management practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of:
- Contaminated sediment sites regulated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), and other state-led programs (e.g., execution of remedial investigations and feasibility studies, development of sampling designs, and preparation of reports)
- Dredged material evaluation and disposal procedures as defined by the Dredged Material Management Program (DMMP)
Our clients include municipal governments, ports, and private industry entities, and we team frequently with engineering firms. The successful candidate will have experience managing contaminated sediment and dredged material characterization projects, as well as the ability to build strong working relationships with engineering firms and other teaming partners. We are seeking a leader who will direct and grow our sediment and dredged material practice.
Effectual multi-tasking, working well with others under deadline pressure, communicating effectively in stressful situations, and finding creative and effective ways to contribute to project team accomplishments will all be essential to success in this position. Candidates will be asked to provide evidence of strong analytical, interpersonal, organization, communication, and project delivery skills. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of co-workers, clients, and regulators.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of related work experience with a consulting firm or dredging project proponent (i.e., municipality, port, or industry). Candidates with comparable experience working for an environmental laboratory or regulatory agency will be considered; however, such candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the unique responsibilities associated with working as a consultant to dredging project proponents. A level of experience exceeding the minimum will be viewed favorably.
- The position will be based in the greater Puget Sound area, and residence in this area will be necessary.
- Excellent writing skills will be vital, and candidates will be required to produce writing samples.
