For more than a decade, Windward has provided support services to the Port of Seattle, undertaking environmental compliance reporting and operations and maintenance inspection activities. Windward’s environmental research and guidance has included the production of site-specific soil and groundwater management plans, summary and interpretation of regulatory obligations, and review of and recommendations regarding consultant reports. We have also provided source control assistance and historical and document support for land exchanges, in addition to extensive GIS-based documents in connection with right-of-way easement negotiations.
Windward works closely with the Port of Seattle’s environmental staff to develop project approaches and requests for proposals, and to review reports by other consultant teams; we also serve as agency liaison for the ongoing management of Port of Seattle-owned properties. Windward has created guidance documents establishing the soil and groundwater conditions; the engineered environmental controls present; and the protocols recommended for maintenance, construction, and repair operations at several seaport facilities.
